A refreshed look and feel for Pomanda

After a recommendation from a previous client, Fieldhouse Associates, Pomanda approached me to re-imagine their website and primary sales funnel: pomanda.com

Previously, their website featured over the top infographics and animations, portraying their website as “childish”, not geared towards the professionals in their target audience.

Before the redesign

We worked on creating more subtle infographics and animations, as well as custom icon design relating to the services that Pomanda and their platform provide. Web-based animations were developed in a cross browser compatible measure, and remained subtle, as well as effective.

And as standard, the Pomanda website is fully responsive and adapts perfectly to a device of any size.

We completely re-imagined the Pomanda website and re-built it from the ground up, and we are now working hard on Phase 2, which will be launching alongside their main product launch at the start of September.

A new WordPress website for Top5s

Top5s approached me during the summer to rebuild their website from the ground up, and migrate all of their content from their old platform. With well over 2 million subscribers on YouTube, it’s important that the Top5s website is robust and user friendly, amongst other things. The new website has proven to be a success, and we will continue working hard to innovate the website and bring new features and content to the ever growing Top5s audience. Koolwan – Chinese Holiday Website

Recently, I launched a website for the Chinese-targeted Spanish holiday villa company, Koolwan. This is a fully functional website which has been fully designed and developed bespoke by myself. Aimed at the Chinese market, Koolwan has the following features:

Advanced search facility
Online booking system with options to add extras to the booking, with on the fly price calculation and a dynamic payment system
A bespoke CMS to allow Koolwan to manage bookings themselves, create vouchers, etc
User accounts (including profile picture, the ability to view past bookings, etc)
Voucher code facility
And much more

Bespoke is always the best option when it comes to building a website; there is more flexibility, it’s easier to scale as your website grows, you aren’t tied down to the design of ready made templates (which other sites will also be using), your website is more secure, it’s more efficient with faster loading times, and so much more.

This new content editor allows the client to edit content by simply opening up the live website, clicking wherever they’d like to edit and just start typing. How simple is that? There isn’t even a “save” button as it saves automatically. I hope to use this on all future websites.

I often receive testimonials from clients when completing a job for them – but I never actually post them anywhere in the public domain. So this is definitely something I’m going to be doing more often.

A large proportion of my clients aren’t actually UK based. In fact, you’ll find that most are based in the USA and surrounding areas. I recently had Abel Habte, of The YEP: Young Ethiopians for Peace, contact me. Although living in America, Abel is fighting for peace in the East, and has a large social media campaign currently underway.

At this moment in time, he had a website live which he had created using an out-of-the-box sitebuilder, Mr Site. Abel stated that his original website could be greatly improved upon, and he made it clear that he wanted a custom website designed and developed to the needs of himself and his team. Me and Abel talked, and Abel came to the agreement to chose me to create such a website for him. So, we went ahead with the project and Abel kindly left me the following testimonial:

Currently, the site contains custom pages and content, a blog, along with a custom developed CMS (content management system) which allows Abel and his team to post, edit, and delete blog posts as and when they need to, via a WYSIWYG editor so no HTML knowledge is required. I am also working on an online store to add to the site at a later date.

In February, I was contacted by a computer science student who is studying at university, named Mr Patel. He kindly asked me to help build a pension manager system, as part of a university module he had to complete. Now, I don’t really know much about pension schemes, how much people receive when they retire, etc. – so I knew that accepting this project would also be a bit of a learning curve for me; but I love to learn new things and implement what I’ve learnt into real life projects and systems.
